Made with matcha of the same grade as the tea that earned a Great Taste Awards 2023 two-star rating. The Great Taste Awards—often called the “Oscars of food”—is a UK-born international competition focused on pure deliciousness. Entered by our UK partner “Matchado,” our Yame matcha was evaluated by more than 500 experts and highly praised. Note: this release has switched to the new harvest for the year, so it is not the exact same batch as the award-winning tea.

Sourced exclusively from first-flush (spring-picked) leaves of the Okumidori cultivar grown in Yame and harvested just once a year, this matcha offers refined sweetness, a clean, light finish, and minimal bitterness. It is richly aromatic and distinctly Yame in character. Enjoy it as koicha (thick tea) or usucha (thin tea), and it also performs beautifully in baking, breads, and pastries.
