Frequently Asked Questions

Our Matcha & Quality

Q: Where is your matcha sourced from? A: All our matcha and hojicha are sourced directly from renowned tea estates in Japan. We curate selections from historic producers such as Marukyu Koyamaen (丸久小山園) and Yamamasa Koyamaen (山政小山園) to ensure you receive the highest ceremonial grade quality.

Q: How do I know the matcha is authentic? A: As a specialized premium matcha supplier in Vancouver, BC, we pride ourselves on transparency. Every tin and bag is imported directly from Japan in small batches to guarantee freshness and authenticity.

Q: What is the difference between Ceremonial and Culinary grade? A: Ceremonial grade is meant for traditional whisking with water; it has a vibrant green color and delicate umami. Culinary grade is stronger and slightly more astringent, making it perfect for lattes, smoothies, and baking.

  3. Ensure the lid is tight after every use to prevent oxidation.

Q: How long does matcha stay fresh? A: Once opened, we recommend consuming your matcha within 1-2 monthsfor the best flavor and color. Unopened tins usually have a shelf life of 6-9 months if stored correctly.
