Yamamasa Koyamaen 山政小山園 - Maki no Shiro 槇の白
Yamamasa Koyamaen Maki no Shiro 槇の白 is a smooth, well-balanced ceremonial matcha from Uji, Kyoto, crafted for drinkers who want a refined and approachable everyday bowl. Made by Yamamasa Koyamaen, it offers a calm, polished profile that works especially well for traditional usucha and daily matcha rituals.
Its flavor is centered on gentle umami, light astringency, and a clean finish. Maki no Shiro has enough structure to feel satisfying, while staying easy to enjoy for those who prefer a softer, more balanced matcha rather than an overly intense or heavy cup.
This matcha is especially suited to traditional whisking and everyday drinking. If you are looking for a ceremonial matcha that feels smooth, reliable, and refined from bowl to bowl, Maki no Shiro is a strong choice for both new and experienced matcha drinkers.
For the best balance, prepare it with water around 80 to 85°C. This helps bring out its gentle umami and keeps the finish clean and pleasant.
