Marukyu Koyamaen’s Isuzu (五十鈴) is a classic daily-drinking Uji matcha known for its balanced profile: a refreshing aroma, gentle astringency, mellow umami, and a lightly bitter finish. It’s especially recommended for usucha (thin tea), and it also performs beautifully in matcha lattes and desserts when blended with milk or cream.

PREPARATION
USUCHA
Rinse the tea bowl and whisk with warm water. Sift 2g of matcha into the bowl. Add 10ml of water to form a smooth paste, then add 50ml more water and whisk vigorously in an “M” motion for 20-30 seconds.
LATTE
Sift 3–5 g of matcha into the bowl. Add 15–25 ml of water to form a smooth paste, then add another 15–25 ml of water and whisk vigorously in an “M” motion for 20–30 seconds. Add 80–120 ml of milk and sweeten to taste.
