Marukyu Koyamaen Hatsu Enishi 初縁 is a summer limited edition matcha made from first-flush tea leaves grown slowly in shaded tea gardens.
Freshly picked leaves are sent immediately for primary processing, where intense steam is used to halt oxidation and preserve the vivid character of new tea. The leaves are then dried into ara-tencha, the unfinished form of tencha used for matcha, before being refrigerated and later refined as needed. This careful process helps retain the freshness and seasonal brightness that give Hatsu Enishi its soft, lively character.

PREPARATION
USUCHA
Rinse the tea bowl and whisk with warm water. Sift 2g of matcha into the bowl. Add 10ml of water to form a smooth paste, then add 50ml more water and whisk vigorously in an “M” motion for 20-30 seconds.
LATTE
Sift 3–5 g of matcha into the bowl. Add 15–25 ml of water to form a smooth paste, then add another 15–25 ml of water and whisk vigorously in an “M” motion for 20–30 seconds. Add 80–120 ml of milk and sweeten to taste.
