[PRE-ORDER] Marukyu Koyamaen 丸久小山園 - Wakatake 若竹 (500g)
Marukyu Koyamaen’s Wakatake (若竹) is a premium, barista-grade Uji matcha celebrated for its intense color and robust presence. Specifically crafted to "cut through" milk and heavy creams, it offers a punchy flavor profile with a structured bitterness that translates into a rich, full-bodied experience in lattes and high-end confectionery.
It is the professional standard for high-end cafes and bakers who demand a vivid emerald green hue and a clear, unmistakable matcha taste.
Flavor Profile
- Aroma: Deeply vegetal, fresh, and spirited
- Palate: Bold astringency with a rich, "punchy" green tea base
- Finish: Crisp, clean bitterness that lingers pleasantly
- Color: Vibrant, deep emerald green (excellent color retention)
How We Recommend Enjoying Wakatake
- Matcha Latte: Our top recommendation. Its strength allows it to stand up to dairy and plant-based milks (like oat or soy) without becoming muted.
- Professional Baking: Ideal for high-end desserts like cheesecakes, ice cream, and macarons where a natural, intense green color is required.
- Daily Usucha: Best for those who prefer a more "energetic" and assertive bowl of thin tea compared to the mellower ceremonial grades.
